All Rules to be as per the IFSC 2023 Rules2023_IFSC_Rules_112.pdf (ifsc-climbing.org) as well as the updated Olympic Speed Rules 2023_IFSC_OGRules-Speed-V11_final.pdf (ifsc-climbing.org) and the new IFSC Lead & Boulder point scoring. Rules as per IFSC 2023 rules, adjusted to local constraints where required.
For the Paris ACC Pre-Qualifiers the Open age Category born in 2007 or earlier i.e., turning 16 or older in 2023.
Appeals may be submitted through the official appeals process, rejected appeals will incur a R100 penalty.
Age Categories (As per 2023 IFSC Rules): U14/U16/U18 and Opens, will be referred to as U13-Youth C, U15-Youth B, U17-Youth A, U19-Juniors and Opens.
Opens: Born in 2007 or earlier.
(Turning 16 or older in 2023).
Juniors: Born in 2004/2005
(Turning 18 or 19 in 2023)
Youth A: Born in 2006/2007
(Turning 16 or 17 in 2023)
Youth B: Born in 2008/2009
(Turning 14 or 15 in 2023)
Youth C: Born in 2010/2011
(Turning 12 or 13 in 2023)
Depending on their 2023 SANCF National results, in the Combined Category (Lead & Boulder) and the separate Speed discipline, all competing athletes turning 16 or older in 2023, will be eligible to be considered to compete in the Africa Paris Qualifier (ACC) to be held at the iconic Loftus Versfeld Stadium from the 7th December to the 10th December 2023.
The individuals official fastest Speed times during the SANCF National competition, i.e., not warm runs, will be used to rank the Speed athletes for qualification to the ACC IFSC Africa Qualifier.
The combined Open Lead & Boulder Scores per gender after the finals round will be used to rank the Combined discipline athletes.
Depending on the number of other athletes from the ACC Member Countries, the number of South African athletes may increase from the five (5) athletes who would have qualified. These athletes will be registered as reserves and their ranking after the 2023 SANCF Nationals will determine their eligibility to potentially compete.
The SANCF National competition shall include Categories for male and female competitors in the U13, U15, U17 & U19 age groups and in the ACC Open Category. (Refer J.a. And J.b. above).
Provincial Member Federations may register, within statutory deadlines, Team Officials for one of the following roles:
One (1) Team Manager Up to three coaches per discipline.
Up to one (1) qualified medical practitioner or Physiotherapist.
Member Federations may register competitors in all Categories.
U13, U15, U17, U19 and Opens
Up to a maximum of five (5) competitors for each Category in each relevant discipline.
Fourteen (14) days prior to the first day of the event, i.e. 15th September 2023 at 17h00 pm CAT. No late entries will be accepted after the deadline unless directly organised with KZN President.

For one discipline: R300.00 per athlete
For two disciplines: R550.00 per athlete
For three disciplines: R 700.00 per athlete
On receipt of entries, the registration fee will be invoiced by KZN to the Provincial Federations. Refer Point above.
Only 2023 SANCF Registered athletes will be permitted to compete.
Payments are due on the 20th September 2023.
Registration fee is non-refundable.
Physical confirmation of registration on the day is mandatory. The Team Manager is responsible to communicate the presence of the Provincial Team. The schedule and location of the confirmation of attendance is outlined in the program of the event.

(see IFSC-E Rules 2.5. and refer to I.a. & I.b. above). Champions will be crowned per discipline per gender per age group and the Opens will include a Combined Category (Lead & Boulder) for the ACC Qualification.
Qualification: 2 rounds, if the number of athletes registered in the Category is four (4) or higher.
Competitors may make one false start within the qualification round. Competitors making a false start shall be recorded as having no valid time (IRM) for the relevant race.
Finals Quota Valid Times in Qualification eight (8) or more or four (4) if less than 8.
Fastest official times will be used to rank the athletes.
Qualification: IFSC-Rules; 6 minutes per route, flash format.
Finals: World Cup, on-sight format.
Points calculated: As per IFSC latest points system i.e., 100 for top and then descending in groups of 10 holds earning 4, 3, 2, 1 or none per 10 holds.
Qualification: IFSC-Rules; 4 minutes per boulder (4 Boulders per qualifier route)
Finals: World Cup Format.
Points calculated 5, 10 and 25 points as marked on the Boulder to be climbed.
(Opens) cumulative scores from the Boulder & lead rounds.
The 15m Speed wall will be erected in terms of the Official Speed Rules, but will not be an Official homologated IFSC Wall, so no official Continental or World Records will be registered, but SA Records could be achieved.
By participating, the athlete and coaches agrees to comply with the currently valid anti-doping rules and regulations of WADA, IFSC and IFSC Africa (statutes, competition rules and anti-doping regulations in particular). All persons who are licensees of the IFSC or IFSC Europe are considered as athletes and team officials and confirm through their participation that they are familiar with the rules and regulations.
